Roy Hill Rail

Client: NRW | Location: Pilbara, Western Australia
As part of the Roy Hill Mine, Global Civil and Mining were engaged to work on the Roy Hill Rail Project. This involved the installation of a private mine railway for ore transport, stretching from the Port Hedland loading facility all the way inland to the Mine, in excess of 300km long.

GCM used two 2500SM’s to construct cuttings for the rail, provide fill material, and trim blasted ground to RL. This eliminated the requirement to over-excavate and source suitable fill material to bring back to design level – proving Surface Mining to be a significantly more cost-effective method.
