Global Civil and Mining are excited to be supporting the East Fremantle Football Club Sharks and their important community work in the Mid-West region!
In surface mining, the soil and the rock covering mineral deposits are removed. The three most common types of surface mining are open-pit mining, strip mining, and quarrying.
Our fleet of surface miners can be applied to cut, crush and load material in a single pass, eliminating the need for drill and blast and primary crushing. This method reduces capital expenditure requirements and operating costs by reducing the number of machines and personnel required onsite.
Mining materials with surface miners allows for a highly selective process, with individual layers or grades of the resource able to be extracted cleanly and in separate operations. This makes it possible to mine thin seams such as coal, or separate high- and low-grade pockets of ore that would otherwise be uneconomical or heavily diluted with drill and blast methods.
Surface miners can work in a wide range of materials without modification. Over the years, GCM has helped clients maximise value and recovery in products from Salt to Iron Ore, Coal to Granite, Uranium, Nickel, Bauxite and almost everything in-between.
